Tove Jansson är mest känd för sina böcker om mumintrollen, vilka hon både skrev och illustrerade, men hon skapade även mycket annat under sitt liv. Hon har bland annat illustrerat Tolkiens Bilbo och Carrolls Alice i Underlandet, målat tavlor och gett ut böcker som inte är muminrelaterade.
